Professional Electrician here.I’ve been using one of these for a few years now. Can’t praise it enough. The always on functionality is fantastic, and the build quality is solid.Batteries last for several months with daily use. (I change them when the beeping starts to slow down significantly just for safety.)Again, I can’t praise this little life saver enough. Buy it.

This is the first time I have used one of these devices so I cannot compare to others. Prior to this I would use a multimeter to check for live circuits and as that is sometimes a bother I did not always put safety first so this device can only be a plus. I generally do not use the warning buzzer, just the warning light. The buzzer was loud enough in a relatively quiet environment (working on my own without significant background noise). In an industrial or busy workshop environment, I do not know if it would be adequate, but I guess that is why we have the light. The tool does what it is supposed to and now I don’t go near any exposed circuits without it. I have been using it for about a year, replaced the battery once, Naturally, when using it for the first time during the day check operation against a known live circuit before risking your life on the one you wish to test.

Great for troubleshooting in j boxes, only makes noise when physically touching the hot wire, unlike other sniffers I have used which sound off if u get anywhere close to somthing hot.

Love these tick testers. The beep option is nice for turning of fhe breaker. My last was given as a gift.

I bought the original in 1991 and it saved my life. I never do any work without one of these in my bag or better yet, in my chest pocket.
