December 13, 2011 – Rack-A-Tiers Mfg. Inc. announced today that they have entered a definitive agreement to purchase all rights, existing inventory, and intellectual property of the non-metallic cable support system manufacturing company, Speedway Electrical Products, for an undisclosed sale price. The acquisition will add Speedway Electrical Products’ cable support system to Rack-A-Tiers already expansive line of innovative and time saving electrical tools and solutions.
Over prior years, the non-metallic cable support systems from Speedway have changed the way that electrical contractors install basement cabling. The product allows for quick and easy installation, reduces the structural damage normally caused from drilling through joists, requires no gluing, and can reduce home run length by up to 30% in some cases. The product is mostly used in the North Eastern United States where basements are most common.
“Buying up Speedway was an obvious choice for us,” says Rack-A-Tiers President and Founder, Ken MacLachlan. “Speedway has been a strong supplier to Rack-A-Tiers with a product that electrical contractors prefer over competing products or substitutes. Bringing the production and distribution process into the Rack-A-Tiers system will only benefit and simplify things for our customers as we now have full control over the process.”
